Help Us Empower Women

Freedom Begins with Economic Empowerment.

We envision an Eswatini where empowered women sit at the economic table, and their health, livelihoods, and future are in their own hands.

0 %
of girls in Eswatini drop out of school. Pregnancy and financial hardship remain the main reasons.
0 %
of adolescent girls experience sexual violence before turning 18. Many never receive the support they need.
0 %
of children in Eswatini live below the poverty line, placing girls at heightened risk of exploitation.
Our Goal is to Help Young Women End the Cycle of Poverty
About Us

We’re a Non-Profit
Social Enterprise

Our Community for Swazi SHEROES is the young women living in Eswatini (formerly Swaziland). Women in Eswatini face an incredible burden due to the HIV pandemic and lack of economic opportunity. Our mission is to holistically empower the women in Eswatini through economic development to mitigate and prevent HIV/AIDS.

HIV prevalence is the highest globally in Eswatini, and Swazi women are disproportionately affected. UN AIDS reports show that out of 190,000 adults living with HIV in Eswatini, 120,000 (63.16%) were women. In addition, new HIV infections among young women aged 15–24 years were more than quadruple those among young men.

Our Mission & Goals

Empower Young Women

Economically empower young women in Eswatini (previously known as Swaziland) in order for them to become financially independent and break the cycle of poverty that leads to continued victimization.

Vision

Change the economic system so the women of Eswatini are not forced to rely on transactional sex in order to escape poverty and create a network of women supporting women.

Need

The United Nations has cited that women’s economic empowerment is a promising strategy for overcoming vulnerability. In the country of Eswatini, formerly known as Swaziland, young women struggle to succeed in a society where they are consistently left out of full economic participation.
